To the East Bay Warriors Family,

Many Thanks go out to the Volunteers who help make East Bay Warriors what is today. Many tireless efforts has been spent on making sure each child plays and cheers. Family life becomes disrupted for at least 3-4 months a year. So before anyone starts to point fingers as to what can make EBW better, find a way to make it better. Many times a pat on the back is not received until it involves "your child." One thing I've observed, is that East Bay doesn't focus on just one kid, it focuses on all kids.

Positive in, Positive out, that means, you get back what you put in. If you give 10% you get 10%. If one child smiles at the end of the season, EBW you have done your job!!

Thanks for a Wonderful Cheer Season, God Bless

I would like to say Thank-You to the East Bay Warriors organization and to Jr. Pee Wee Wranglers Head Coach Vic Goree. I'm sure that you hear this often, BUT I would just like to say that my son, 9 years old, has benefited in a major way from being a part of this organization for the first time this year!

He REALLY struggled throughout this experience. He had never been exposed to football at this level or physical activity in this manner. The guidance that Coach Goree and his coaching team gave to my son will be carried with him throughout his life.

I often term my son's football experience to my friends and family as his "right-of-passage". He has changed so much. His self-esteem has been raised. I can't say enough.

This experience showed my son that his family and extended family (grandma, cousins, aunts uncles, neighbors, etc.) support him all the way!

Now, although the Wranglers were not a "winning" team this season, my son will always be a winner to me.

I remember when the season first started and he would show up at practice each day and cry/complain that it was too tough... I was even crying inside for him. I know it was tough. Finally, I had to stop coming to practice. I'm really a softie MOM, BUT I did not want my Son to see me crying for him.

At one point he came to me and said he wanted to quit. I told him he had to suit up, walk out on the field and tell his coaches and his team that he wanted to quit. I saw Coach Goree take him off to the side and talk to him, I don't know what he said to him, but the next thing I know, I saw him out there trying again.

Now he wants to play basketball during football's off-season to keep in shape for football next year.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! See you next season!

PS: He misses practice already.

The season is over for some of us and I want to share my grateful thoughts on our experience. This was our family's first year participating in the East Bay Warriors Organization. My daughter was a cheerleader for the Jr. Pee Wee Wolverines and her brother was a football player for the Mighty Mite Warhawks.

The East Bay Warriors Organization and all of its contributors should truly feel proud of the positive effect they have had on our children in the Bay Area. When we joined the organization we were hopeful that the participation of our children would have a positive effect. However, we are truly thankful that we placed our children in your hands. Both our children matured during a short period. They increased their self-confidence, ability to focus on a goal, learned how to perform in a team environment and more...

We all appreciate and understand the statistical results of our efforts in the league. We often tend to focus on what can improve. However, to each contributor (parents, coaches, directors, leaders), the utmost important aspect of this league is the positive effect it has on our children. Congratulations on creating and promoting this positive opportunity. In addition, the children also see your efforts, in the seeds that you sew, as positive role models for them.

Please share my personal thank you to my daughter's coaches for the Wolverines cheer:

  • Coach Maleya, showed consistent warmth and love for the girls. They could feel her spirit and aspired to do their best.
  • Coach Ramona, the girls will always remember how comfortable you made it for them in helping them learn their cheers.
  • Coach Kiana, you provided the discipline the girls needed to stay focus and to achieve at their best. You would not hesitate to stand beside them and show them "how to" do the cheer.
  • Cecily, as the Business manager, there was a lot of communication to organize. Thank you for the detailed emails and opening up your home to the girls for their first true bonding time.
Also thank you to the President of the organization. It is obvious to know who is leading the organization because you consistently participate and lead by example. Again, congratulations to you all... We look forward to next year!
